About Centrifuge Extractor (Motorised) (ASTM)

Specification:

Used for the determination of bitumen percentage in bituminous mixtures. It consists of a removable, precision machined aluminium rotor bowl (accessory 1500 or 3000 g capacity), housed in a cylindrical aluminium box. The separate control panel incorporates an electronic card fitted with AC drive that automatically drives the bowl speed rotation ramp from 0 to 3600 R.P.M. as requested by Standards, with automatic fast stop bowl rotation at the end of the test. Supplied complete with speed regulator and digital display monitoring the frequency. Power supply: 230 V A.C. Single Phase

Precise Extraction Performance

Engineered for ASTM-compliant bitumen and asphalt testing, the centrifuge extractor delivers reliability and accuracy with each use. Its motorised controls and programmable timer facilitate variable testing procedures, while the air-cooled operation ensures sustained performance in high-humidity environments. Vibration-free operation further enhances result consistency, making it an essential addition to any pavement analysis laboratory.

Enhanced Safety and Usability

This extractor prioritizes operator safety with a safety cover equipped with an interlocking mechanism, preventing operation when the lid is open. The analog RPM meter and timer ensure straightforward monitoring, while manual controls simplify specimen handling. Its removable aluminum bowl and powder-coated/stainless steel finish enable easy cleaning and robust longevity in daily testing scenarios.

FAQ's of Centrifuge Extractor (Motorised) (ASTM):

Q: How does the interlocking lid improve safety during operation?

A: The interlocking lid prevents the centrifuge extractor from operating when it is open, thereby safeguarding users from accidental contact with moving parts and ensuring compliance with laboratory safety protocols.

Q: What is the recommended usage process for extracting bitumen content as per ASTM D2172?

A: To extract bitumen content, place the pavement mixture in the supplied 1500 g extraction bowl, add filter paper, secure the lid, and program the timer as required. The motorised centrifuge separates bitumen efficiently while maintaining accuracy within 0.5% of reading.

Q: When should the extractor bowl be cleaned, and what are the benefits of its removable design?

A: The extraction bowl should be cleaned after each test to maintain sample integrity and prevent cross-contamination. Its removable cast aluminum design allows for quick and thorough cleaning, enhancing workflow and equipment longevity.

Q: Where can this centrifuge extractor be used, and what is its mounting style?

A: Designed for laboratory and industrial settings, the extractor is mounted benchtop, making it suitable for professional facilities engaged in pavement material analysis across dealer, distributor, manufacturer, and research environments in India.

Q: What accessories are included with the centrifuge extractor for immediate operation?

A: The unit comes complete with an extractor bowl, a filter paper pack, and an operating manual, ensuring readiness for bitumen extraction procedures upon installation.

Q: How does the air-cooled operation contribute to performance in high humidity conditions?

A: Air-cooled operation maintains optimal internal temperature, allowing efficient extraction performance even in environments with up to 90% relative humidity without risk of condensation or overheating.

Q: What are the benefits of the vibration-free operation for bitumen testing accuracy?

A: Vibration-free operation minimizes measurement variability, enhancing the precision of bitumen content determination and ensuring consistent, reliable results during testing.
