About Grain Size Analysis (Pipette Method)

We are the manufacturer of Grain Size Analysis (Pipette Method). This is for the determination of the sub sieve particle distribution in a soil sample by mechanical analysis. An analysis of this kind expresses quantity the proportions by weight of the various sizes of particles present in the soil. It is recommended as a standard procedure to use dispersion agent to avoid flocculation. The apparatus consists of a sliding panel which moves up and down by means of a screw allowing Anderson pipette fixed to it to be raised or lowered vertically. A sedimentation tube is held by a laboratory clamp provided on the stand below the pipette. The depth of immersion is measured by a scale graduated in mm at the side of the sliding panel. Supplied complete with Anderson pipette 10ml. At the side capacity made from glass, and a sedimentation tube also of glass of 500ml capacity and 50nos. Test form pads.

FAQs of Grain Size Analysis (Pipette Method):

Q: How does the pipette method work in grain size analysis?

A: The pipette method involves sampling a suspension of soil particles at a specific depth after agitation, allowing for the precise measurement of particle sizes based on their rate of sedimentation. This provides an accurate distribution of grain sizes within a soil sample.

Q: What materials are used in the construction of this grain size analyzer?

A: This apparatus is constructed from mild steel, making it robust and resistant to wear. It is finished with a white coating, which adds to its durability and modern laboratory appeal.

Q: When is the pipette method preferred over other grain size analysis techniques?

A: The pipette method is especially favored when precise analysis of fine-grained soils is required. It is ideal for laboratory settings where detailed assessment of silt and clay fractions is necessary.

Q: Where can this grain size analysis apparatus be installed?

A: Designed for floor mounting, this apparatus is best suited for installation in laboratories, testing centers, or research institutions, ensuring stability and ease of access during particle size evaluation.

Q: What is the typical process of using the pipette method for grain size analysis?

A: The process involves dispersing the soil sample in water, agitating it, and then drawing samples from a fixed depth at set intervals using a pipette. The sediment collected is then analyzed to determine the particle size distribution.

Q: How is this apparatus powered and what are its operational benefits?

A: This unit is manually operated, eliminating the need for an external power supply. Manual operation enhances reliability and reduces both maintenance and electrical costs for laboratories.

Q: Who can benefit from using the grain size analysis (pipette method) apparatus?

A: Laboratories, manufacturers, exporters, fabricators, dealers, and other industry professionals in India who require reliable particle size data will greatly benefit from this analyzers accuracy and build quality.
